SWÄVSTORY

What confidence is this?
Unheard of body positivity.

Ukotini (clothing) for the work of art that is your body.
Slip into confidance

THE MORE I TALK ABOUT THIS, THE MORE I WRITE ABOUT IT, IT WILL BECOME MORE SUCCINCT. WITH THIS, I AM TRUSTING THE PROCESS, SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN SHYING AWAY FROM.

IT’S OCCURED TO ME THAT; THE PUZZLE CAN BE SOLVED FROM JUST LISTENING TO THE BODY, THE HEART AND THAT FEELING YOU CAN’T SHAKE OFF THAT WORKS THE TUMMY.

Initially an idea to soften the blow of the demand to be well dressed and in reputable brand in the fashionable streets of Durban while coming to the realization of a new world with new demands. Varsity imposed the need to be well dressed, and of course, maintain some street cred one had managed to vusa(muster) through ukotini. The realization being that, probably the Guess premium I wanted was made with much less money then what I would buy it for. Trying to maintain that consistency I was knew was umdlalo straight(child’splay).

SWAV was born out of necessity and trudged through its existence in perfectionism. Wanting to be an absolute complement to the human body. 2nd skin to the canvas that is the human body, it being a canvas for aristry. First and foremost expressed in the threads, the detail of the stitches, striking intention. These of course were an after thought after necessity, as I try to put more meaning into what the SWAV means to me and should mean to the world.

That meaning keeps changing as I do, staggeringly slow when I am slow and reluctanctly fast mawubuya umqondo. A mirror, I’ve discovered, to my character and personality in a sense. Fitting that I’d keep it close to my chest because it’s an expose to a degree.
